Golf is a precision sport that is practiced in an open field (cultivated lawn) specially equipped, by means of a ball and a series of irons and woods. Although it is believed by some to be a sport of Dutch origin, the country where it first enjoyed enormous popularity and great tradition was Scotland (where it is national game).

The Amateur Association Sportive “CASENTINO GOLF CLUB AREZZO” was founded in 1985 by a group of friends (founding members promoters ) involving local public bodies (province of Arezzo, mountain community of Casentino, municipality of Poppi ) in the realization of the only approved and affiliated golf course still present in the province.
